On the Mark Consulting provides:
Research: Behind every good decision is good research. Sandra has authored comprehensive reports addressing such topics as the transition from conventional to organic cotton, considerations for sustainable hemp production, an assessment of pesticide and fertilizer use on cotton in the U.S. and globally, and organic cotton production in the U.S. and Africa.
Communications: Clear and accurate communication is important for amplifying key messages, and increasingly vital with new anti-greenwashing regulations. Sandra has developed and executed strategic media initiatives, producing a range of background collateral and securing placements in top-tier media outlets to enhance clients' visibility and impact. She also creates in-depth reports, fact sheets, articles, and more to make sure that decision-makers have the facts. (See “Reports.”)
Advocacy: Half the battle in achieving change is shaping policies and engaging in the process. Sandra assists in developing responsible fiber production criteria, advocates on behalf of the organic industry on Capitol Hill, coordinated the formulation of U.S. organic fiber processing policy (later incorporated into the Global Organic Textile Standard), and aided in the development of federal legislation prohibiting the export of banned pesticides. She also advocates on behalf of her clients, helping them and their positions be heard online and in-person.
